At MMFS, we welcome people at the end of life, as well as their loved ones, in an environment marked by respect, dignity and compassion, in order to accompany them with humanity in the last moments of their lives.
The care team is made up of qualified nurses, nursing assistants and orderlies, committed to providing an attentive, caring presence. Alongside them, volunteers trained by La Maison are fully integrated into the care team, providing essential human support.
We are also privileged to count on the commitment and expertise of 9 dedicated physicians, who provide personalized palliative care with the utmost respect for each person’s wishes and needs.
La Maison’s philosophy is based on the idea that every individual deserves to be welcomed as if they were at home, in a place where they feel recognized, respected and cared for. We deeply believe that each person is unique, with his or her own needs, values and history.
Humanity guides our every gesture: our care is imbued with warmth, tenderness and consideration. We place the emphasis on listening, being there for you, and accompanying you with dignity until the very last moment.

Services at Maison Mathieu Froment-Savoie
At the Maison Mathieu Froment-Savoie, we offer free, accessible palliative care to people who meet our admission criteria and who reside primarily in the Outaouais region (region 07). Our services complement those offered by the public health network and community organizations.
Support is provided by an interdisciplinary team of dedicated healthcare professionals, support staff and volunteers, all united by a shared commitment to providing an environment of respect, dignity and compassion.
We also provide support for the caregivers of these people, who also need to be listened to and given a break.
Services at Maison Mathieu Froment-Savoie
At the Maison Mathieu Froment-Savoie, we offer free, accessible palliative care to people who meet our admission criteria and who reside primarily in the Outaouais region (region 07). Our services are offered in complementarity with the public health network and community organizations.
Care is provided by an interdisciplinary team of healthcare professionals, support staff and dedicated volunteers, all united by a common desire to provide an environment of respect, dignity and compassion.
Day-to-day operation
We foster a flexible living environment that respects patients’ wishes and rhythms.
– No rigid routines: patients decide when to eat or bathe, whenever possible.
– A family atmosphere: everyone is invited to bring personal items to make their room more welcoming.
– Privacy: all our rooms are private and equipped with TV (cable charges apply weekly).
Drugs and supplies
Charges may apply for :
- Prescription drugs (covered by insurance plan)
- Incontinence products
- Specialized care equipment (colostomy, ileostomy, specialized dressings)
Personal effects and care
Patients are invited to bring :
- Hygiene products: soap, toothpaste, shampoo, razor, comb, etc.
- Comfortable clothing adapted to their state of health.
- Other personal effects as required (e.g. humidifier)
A place to care, live and support
At the Maison Mathieu Froment-Savoie, everything is done to accompany each person and their loved ones with empathy, competence and humanity, in a unique moment of life.
We believe deeply in the power of collaboration between staff, volunteers, families and the community to make each day a moment of presence and peace.
