Services and care

Admission criteria

We welcome people:

– All ages, regardless of medical diagnosis.
– For an end-of-life stay in a calm, reassuring family environment.
– For temporary respite for caregivers, or for pain and symptom control.

If you have any questions about admissions to the MMFS, whether in the context of an AMM or not, we invite you to contact the MMFS liaison nurse at admission@mmfs.org or by telephone at 819-770-3900 ext. 234.

Prerequisites :

  • The prognosis for life is approximately three (3) months or less, depending on medical assessment.
  • The person and his or her loved ones understand that curative treatments are no longer appropriate and consent to comfort palliative care (level of care 4 – non-resuscitation).

Priority is given:

  • for people living at home;
  • those living alone or without family support;
  • people who are eligible for readmission after a previous stay at the Maison.

Ontario patients must have private insurance or pay their own drug costs, since provincial insurance (OHIP) is not valid in Quebec.
